D. Scott Clark sat on the summit with his feet dangling off a fragile snow cornice, looking down a 2,000 feet sheer drop contemplating how he got there. He had just climbed Alpamayo, a peak in Peru's Cordillera Blanca range, almost 20,000 feet above sea level. As an active lifestyle photographer and adventurer, Scott has gotten to see some of the most incredible locations on the planet, but he's equally comfortable shooting for commercial clients in his studio.
Scott's interest in photography began when he was a kid, dreaming about being a photographer for Skiing Magazine. Growing up in Indiana, Scott had limited access to the mountains, but it was the mountains that filled his daydreams. Almost two decades after first imagining himself as a skiing photographer, he moved to Boulder, Colorado to pursue adventure lifestyle photography. He's lived and worked around the world, from advertising and non-profit work in Mumbai to chasing adventure racers around a 600-kilometer course through the wilds of Chilean Patagonia.
"I love my ability to work fast, on the fly in difficult situations and create beautiful, light-filled imagery, but I value collaborating with a creative team to produce visually captivating photography that effectively tells a brand's story."
In D. Scott Clark's career, he's worked for brands such as Adidas, Klean Kanteen, and Chase Bank and editorial clients like National Geographic Traveller, New York Magazine and Men's Journal. Scott is looking forward to creating imagery with more brands that cultivate an active lifestyle and strive to make a positive impact on our world.
